The Department of Employment of Relations and Human Resources (ERHR) is one of six departments in the Griffith Business School, which is an established, fast growing business school in Brisbane and the Gold Coast - the most rapidly expanding area in Australia. The School is committed to high quality, internationally relevant business and public sector education and research with a special focus on sustainable business development and responsible leadership.
The Department has a strong and active research focus, with a long history of success in securing external research (including Australian Research Council Discovery) grants and of successful PhD completions.
The Department’s 30 full time staff research in areas such as, emotions in the workplace, gender and equity in employment, employee voice and employee representation, occupational health and safety, human resource management and development, international and comparative ER/HRM, and many other aspects of people and management in the workplace.
ERHR welcomes applications from candidates who will be able to provide strong leadership in one or more the Department’s key disciplines. This is a full time continuing position.The position is available at the Nathan campus, but may involve some duties at the Gold Coast.
This is a continuing, full time position based at the Nathan and Gold Coast campuses.
By applying highly developed research knowledge, skills and expertise, the person appointed to this position will develop, enhance and provide strategic leadership in research, learning and teaching in the Department. You will provide highly developed research leadership including supervision, training, education, mentoring and assistance to research staff and research students in order to achieve high quality research publications, obtain competitive grant funding, work closely with industry partners and contribute to organisational objectives. You will also develop and lead collaborative, multi-disciplinary research activities with both internal and external research groups in order to build research capacity across the Department. The appointee will participate in developing, convening and teaching courses both at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the Department.
The successful applicant will have a PhD in Employment Relations/Human Resource Management/Organisational Behaviour and a publication record in high ranking journals in the business and management field of research code, along with evidence of securing competitive, external research income.
The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership capabilities in the area of Learning & Teaching, and evidence of effectiveness of teaching in tertiary teaching.
Essential to your success in the role are well-developed communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with academic and technical staff and undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Associate Professor, Level D: $131,801 - $145,205 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $154,208 - $169,890 per annum.
