Labour & Industry is looking forward to your research and contributions in 2021

The Labour & Industry editorial team would like to encourage the AIRAANZ membership to contribute to Labour & Industry throughout 2021, and beyond, by submitting your research papers and helping us as a reviewer.

Labour and Industry: A Journal of the Social and Economic Relations of Work is the AIRAANZ house journal, published by Taylor and Francis four times a year. The journal, which is supported by a strong Australasian and global Editorial Board, confirmed its B-ranking in the last ABDC review and achieved its first ranking (2) in the prestigious UK Chartered ABS Academic Journal Guide in 2018. Interest in the journal continues to grow year on year, with article downloads up to 42,500 in 2019.

Did you know that Labour and Industry:

  • has an interactive and engaging twitter account that we encourage AIRAANZ members to follow?
  • sponsors a best paper award, and ad hoc prizes, awarded each year at the AIRAANZ conference?
  • welcomes the submission of ‘Insights’ papers?

Want to know what an Insights paper looks like? Here is an example of a recent award-winning piece by Michael Walker on social media resistance. We welcome the submission of these short research notes that stimulate debate, challenge conceptual boundaries, and contribute to the generation of industrial relations ideas and advancement of theory.

Upcoming Special Issues 2021 The current issue (30:4) is a Special Issue on construction work led by a leading team of Canadian scholars. This collection of papers addresses a range of important concerns relating to work mobility, atypical and vulnerable work, gender, work-life balance and stress. We also have several exciting Special Issues coming up in 2021, including:

Issue 1, 2021 - AIRAANZ Conference 2020 Issue 3, 2021 - Global Lessons for Stronger Collective Bargaining Systems: Enterprise, Industry, and Society Issue 4, 2021 - Work and Employment COVID 19 and Beyond (submissions open until end of January 2021)

We look forward to your ongoing contributions and support – please keep reading, citing, submitting and reviewing papers for your journal!
